Kothagudem court gives life imprisonment for murder case accused
A Kothagudem court sentenced Sheikh Bhasha to life imprisonment for the 2021 murder of Kethepalli Sudhakar. The accused killed Sudhakar over a financial dispute and stole his valuables. The verdict followed examination of 16 witnesses and police investigation

Kothagudem: Principal district and sessions judge Patil Vasanth on Tuesday pronounced the verdict sentencing Sheikh Bhasha, accused in the murder of Kethepalli Sudhakar of Ganesh Basthi in Kothagudem, to life imprisonment.
On September 9, 2021, the then Laxmidevipally Station House Officer Anjaiah registered a case based on the complaint of Kethepalli Suresh, brother of the deceased. The then Inspector of Police Guruswamy took up investigation.
When Sudhakar refused to lend money, Sheikh Bhasha of Chatakonda in Laxmidevipally mandal developed a grudge against Sudhakar. The accused took him to a eucalyptus plantation, hit him hard on the head with an iron rod and killed him. Later, he stole his gold chain and a ring and fled.
After ascertaining Bhasha’s involvement in the murder through phone call record, CI Guruswamy filed a chargesheet in the court. After examining 16 witnesses in the case, the verdict was announced, sentencing the accused to life imprisonment.

Man held for selling cigarettes to schoolchildren in Siddipet
Siddipet: Siddipet police on Tuesday arrested a man for selling cigarettes to students of Indira Nagar Public School. Acting on a complaint lodged by school headmaster Ammana Rajashekhar, the police kept a watch and caught trader Balla Bhaskar selling cigarettes to minor boys near the school.
One Town Inspector Vasudeva Rao took the accused into custody. In a press statement, the Inspector warned that anyone found selling cigarettes, gutkha or other tobacco products to minors would face up to seven years’ imprisonment.
Liquor meant for voters seized by Siddipet police
Siddipet: Siddipet police on Tuesday seized 673 litres of liquor hidden near an agricultural well in Mulug mandal headquarters, allegedly meant for distribution to voters ahead of the gram panchayat elections.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the location and found the liquor stock. A case has been registered and an investigation is under way.
Four booked for printing fake ballot paper in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: Police have registered a case against a sarpanch contestant and three others for printing a fake ballot paper in Chenjarla of Manakondur mandal to mislead voters.
According to the police, sarpanch aspirant Gaddi Renuka was allotted the scissors symbol while another contestant, Gollena Kanukavva, is contesting with the football symbol.
With an intention to misguide voters, Renuka allegedly printed a fake ballot paper by altering Kanukavva’s serial number and assigning her original number to NOTA.
Following a complaint lodged by the nodal officer for model code of conduct, police on Monday booked Renuka, Gaddi Ganesh, Aditya and the owner of Laxmisai Printers in Karimnagar.
