Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the Congress government for its negligence and administrative failure in retrieving the bodies of three youngsters who got washed away in nalas in Hyderabad during the recent rains. He warned that the BRS would take up a fight against the government until the bodies were handed over to the bereaved families.

On Tuesday, Rama Rao said the Revanth Reddy government had committed a grave sin by failing to recover the bodies of six workers buried alive in the SLBC tunnel collapse. The Congress government had failed again to retrieve three people who washed away in Hyderabad drains even after three days.

“Can there be any greater incompetence and administrative failure than this?” he asked, slamming the government’s inability to even provide a proper closure to grieving families. He termed the situation as both heartbreaking and inhumane.

The former Minister questioned whether the Congress government could hear the anguish of victim families who were denied the chance to see their loved ones for one last time. He also called out the Chief Minister who also holds the Municipal Administration portfolio, for not taking any measures despite people getting washed away in overflowing drains following moderate rains. He blamed the Congress regime for weakening the Disaster Response Force, which was set up to protect citizens during calamities.
