Hyderabad: The Kulsumpura police on Wednesday raided a pickle-making unit where allegedly spoiled vegetables and inferior quality ingredients were used for preparing ‘achar’.

The police seized 72 drums of different varieties of pickles, six drums of tomato and tamarind paste, and a weighing machine.

Two persons, N Narsimha and N Naresh, were taken into custody.

According to the police, the two persons were operating a large-scale pickle manufacturing unit under extremely unhygienic conditions and supplying it to the market, posing a health risk to the public.

A case has been registered against them.
