Mancherial: Kyathanpalli municipal officials drew flak for transporting Praja Palana saris in tractors meant for lifting garbage on Saturday.
The civic officials allegedly used a tractor to transport the saris to a colony from a warehouse. Beneficiaries expressed displeasure over the incident, which they said exposed the callous attitude of the officials in implementing the scheme. They urged higher officials to take action against responsible staffers by conducting a probe.
Earlier, they had faced criticism for shipping food packets in a trolley to staff during recent elections to Kyathanpalli municipality. Photographs and videos of the incident went viral on social media platforms. The officials were under the scanner for using vehicles meant for lifting waste to transport saris and food packets.
The officials were not available for comment.
