Lunar Eclipse 2021: These Indian cities will see super celestial event

The Total Lunar Eclipse occurring on Wednesday will be visible in several countries as the Moon turns into a bloodmoon. The full moon today will be the year's biggest 'supermoon' and feature the first total lunar eclipse in more than two years.

Hyderabad: Lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is between the sun and the moon thus, coming in the way of the sun’s light and casting its shadow on the moon. People also believe that an eclipse can have an impact on 12 zodiac signs along with the country and the world.

The Total Lunar Eclipse occurring on Wednesday will be visible in several countries as the Moon turns into a bloodmoon. The full moon today will be the year’s biggest ‘supermoon’ and feature the first total lunar eclipse in more than two years. The two celestial events are taking place together and this is also called as a Super Blood Moon.


India will witness a partial lunar eclipse just after moonrise in the north-eastern states, some parts of West Bengal, some coastal parts of Odisha and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the eclipse will also be visible in the region covering South America, North America, Asia, Australia, Antarctica, the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean.

According to the Ministry of Earth Sciences the partial phase of the eclipse will begin at 3.15 pm in India. The total phase of the eclipse will end at 4.58 pm, while the partial phase ends at 6.23 pm.
