Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy brought to the attention of the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy the ongoing protests by local residents against the dumping of waste at the Macha Bollarum Hindu crematorium.
During his meeting with the Chief Minister, the MLA explained that despite repeated requests to the district administration and municipal officials to relocate the waste dumping yard away from the Hindu crematorium, and despite directives issued by the High Court and the National Human Rights Commission, a proper resolution to the issue has remained elusive to date.
Consequently, the MLA took the initiative himself and, accompanied by JAC leaders and local residents, inspected several potential sites and identified a vacant plot belonging to the military near Dairy Farm Road. He requested the Chief Minister to coordinate with the Central Government to secure the transfer of this land for waste dumping purposes, thereby enabling the complete cessation of waste dumping at the crematorium and providing relief to residents of approximately 50 colonies.
The MLA gave an assurance that he would continue to exert his utmost efforts at all levels to resolve the waste dumping issue affecting the people of Macha Bollarum.
