Man arrested for abetting suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta police arrested one person on charges of harassing a woman and abetment to suicide. Asif (24) of Jangammet was in a friendship with a woman aged around 20 years from Bandlaguda. He insisted on getting married to her and both families agreed to the marriage last month.

However, Asif began going to her house and harassing her during late nights. “She felt humiliated and slipped into depression. On August 7, she ended her life by hanging in her house,” the Chandrayangutta police said, adding that a case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) was registered against Asif and he was arrested.
