Man crushed to death by water tanker in Mancherial

Mancherial: A 48-year-old private employee was killed on the spot when he came under the wheels of a water tanker engaged in works of Mancherial-Chandrapur National Highway at Somagudem village in Kasipet mandal on Sunday.

Kasipet Sub-Inspector Bethi Ramulu said the deceased was identified as Srinivas (48), a native of Yapal in Mandamarri town and an employee of an electric bike showroom here.

Srinivas was returning to Mandamarri from Bellampalli when the accident occurred. Some passersby alerted the police who rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Bellampalli government hospital. Srinivas was survived by his wife and two children.

Based on a complaint lodged by his wife Madhavi, a case was registered against Satish Paul, the driver of the lorry from Uttar Pradesh. Investigations have been taken up.
