Kumram Bheem-Asifabad: A man was arrested for allegedly decamping with gold ornaments and cash from a house of a woman at Karjelli village in Chintalamanepalli mandal recently. A total of 64 grams of gold and cash of Rs 50,000 were recovered from him. He was produced before the media in Koutala mandal centre on Wednesday.

Kaghaznagar DSP Karunakar said that Telige Sampath Kumar, a resident from Karjelli village, was arrested following a complaint by his neighbour Choudari Rajakka.

During the interrogation, Sampath confessed to committing the crime to overcome losses incurred in cattle trading. He admitted that he stole the gold ornaments and cash stored in an iron box when Rajakka was not present in her house on November 20. He revealed that he had not spent the stolen cash fearing the consequences of his act. Based on a complaint received from Rajakka, a case was registered against Sampath. The DSP commended the investigating officers and warned of stringent action against those who indulge in illegal activities.
