Manjeera River echoes spirit of World Rivers Day at Edupayalu
To mark World Rivers Day, activists, experts, and students gathered at the Manjeera River in Edupayalu. A River Walk was held to raise awareness about protecting rivers from pollution and preserving them for future generations. Various dignitaries participated in the event

Hyderabad: On the occasion of World Rivers Day, under the auspices of Forum for a Better Hyderabad, the New Telangana History Team and Deccan Heritage Academy Trust, in association with Government City College, visited the Manjeera River near Edupayalu.
Prof M Veda Kumar, President of Forum for a Better Hyderabad, who inaugurated a River Walk, said that it was everyone’s responsibility to protect rivers, as they are the foundation of civilisation. He emphasised that rivers must be safeguarded from pollution and kept clean, so that they can be preserved for future generations.
He said World Rivers Day, celebrated internationally in nearly 100 countries, was being observed this year on the banks of the Manjeera River at Edupayalu in Medak district and spoke about the chain of hills and rock formations along the riverbank.
Group-1 Officer Karipe Raju, Forum member Venugopal, water conservation expert Subhash, M Venkateshwarlu, Superintendent Engineer, Ambati Venkanna, Burra Santosh, a member of the New Telangana History Team from Medak, Dr Rama, Dr Padma, Sutaravu Venkataranarayana, Narendra, members of KTCB, and others participated in this event.
