MANUU films selected for UNESCO supported film festival

The online festival is starting on Friday with films from more than 100 countries being screened.

Hyderabad: Nine short films and documentaries of the Instructional Media Centre, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), have been selected for the Cultural Cinema fest 2021, supported by UNESCO, Delhi office.

The selected films were Aristotle, Stephen Hawkins, Dr. CV Raman, Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Nawa-e-Sarosh Mirza Ghalib, Al Zahrawi, A Tribute to Prof. Yashpal, Sir Isaac Newton and Prof. U.R. Rao. They were selected from 44 films under this category, the MANUU said.


The online festival is starting on Friday with films from more than 100 countries being screened.

Meanwhile, the university’s YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/IMCMANUU/featured crossed over 50,000 subscriptions. The channel not only has higher educational content in Urdu but also has rare documentaries on Urdu language and culture and other programmes of general enrichment as well, according to a press release.
