Mancherial: Collector Bharati Hollikeri said that steps were being taken to open Mother and Child Hospital in two weeks. She along with Superintendent Dr Aravind inspected the works of the under-construction hospital here on Wednesday.

Bharati asked officials concerned to expedite the works. She said that 30 more beds would be created in addition to the proposed 100 beds at the facility for the convenience of the public. She opined that the hospital would be a boon to the women and children.

The hospital is being constructed in a six-acre piece of land on the College Road in district headquarters, at an estimated cost of Rs 17 crore. The works commenced in 2017, with a deadline of 18 months. The progress of the works was hindered by Covid-19 induced lockdown.
