Medak: Unidentified persons abandoned a four-month-old baby boy in the Narsapur forest area near Kondapur on Sunday.
Locals, who heard the infant crying, rushed to the spot and rescued the child. They brought the baby to a nearby home and immediately alerted the police. Officials from the Women and Child Welfare Department, along with the police, shifted the child to the government hospital in Narsapur for medical evaluation.
Police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify those responsible for abandoning the infant.
