Hyderabad: Medicover Hospitals on Wednesday launched home healthcare services aimed at providing medical services and access to doctors and nurses at home for patients who can’t physically visit the hospital.
“We understood the needs of the patient after they get discharged from the hospital and decided to be with them at home when they need us the most,” said Dr Sateesh Kumar Kailasam, director for Emergency Medicine at Medicover hospitals.
Senior vice-president, Medicover India, Neeraj Lal said that home healthcare will enable doctors to connect with patients after they get discharged from the hospital which will improve the continuity of care.
Patients can book their appointments with health care workers through a mobile application ‘medicovered’. The services available as part of the initiative include home visit by doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, minor procedures at home, home sample collection and medicine delivery.
The medicovered mobile application will facilitate booking appointments, health check-ups for their hospital visit, request an ambulance, ordering medicines at home and booking any service of Medicover Home Healthcare.
