Meerpet murder: Case investigated as ‘woman missing’ with no evidence of crime
Rachakonda Police and CLUES team are using Blue Star technology to work in the case. This technology detects blood stains even after washing or rubbing objects
Hyderabad: The Meerpet murder case is still being investigated as ‘woman missing’ case as no evidence of crime was found yet, said Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu on Friday.
“We are also seeking support of the forensic teams from other States for sample collection and analysis to link the suspect to the case. As the case involves more of scientific investigation and technical analysis, it would take some more time,” he said.
The Rachakonda Police and the CLUES team have used the Blue Star technology to work in the case. This technology detects blood stains even after washing or rubbing objects. It allows the detection of minute, erased or thoroughly washed blood traces, with or without detergent, even at very high dilutions.
Though the suspect Guru Murthy confessed having killed his wife Madhavi, chopped the body into pieces before boiling them and disposing, hours of searching the spot by the cops did not yield any result. There was no evidence found, and reportedly not even a trace of blood stain was detected so far.
It is learnt that some clues were obtained and cops are planning to collect samples from the couple’s children to match it with the DNA samples from the crime spot with the help of forensic science analysis.
