A special assembly was conducted by Delhi Public School, Nacharam, senior secondary students on account of World Health Day April 7 with the theme ‘Building a Fairer, Healthier World for Everyone’. The programme was intended to draw people’s attention towards the importance of global health.
Sr. Vice Principal Nandita Sunkara in her opening remarks commended students for their participation in school-held programmes along with academics. She accentuated the fact that the most indispensable tool to healthful living is the undistinguished nurturing of our wellbeing, both physically and mentally.
Principal Mrs. Sunitha Rao addressed the virtual gathering and declared that the programme aimed at raising awareness on specific health issues. She restated the maxim ‘He who has health has hope and he who has hope has everything.’
Chief guest Dr. Michael briefed students on the history and aim of World Health Day and conveyed his views on the importance of physical as well as mental well-being. He discussed various social and economic factors affecting public health and the ways to tackle them.
Later, presenters Isha Priyadarshini and Vignesh presented the WHO news board underscoring the importance of planning and securing our health above all the other necessities of life.

Brahmini reaffirmed our commitment to global vaccine equity. Tanishq reddy elucidated the working of vaccines and addressed the myths related to vaccines and immunization. A fun-filled quiz by Sreeja and Sanvi particularly gripped the audience’s attention. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Aaratrika.
