Sangareddy: After nursing a shoulder injury for four months, Navaneeth Bokka, current national champion in mixed doubles, is progressing well. Navaneeth, who won the national mixed doubles pairing with Priya Devi Konjengbam last year, has now partnered with Ritika Thaker from Nagpur.

After recovering from the shoulder injury, Navaneeth and Ritika broke into the top 100 rank within three months with consistent performances. The pair, currently ranked at 96, was now heading to Dhaka to participate in the Bangladesh International Challenge tournament.

Speaking to Telangana Today, Navaneeth said the Ramky Foundation helped him during his rehabilitation to recover quickly and get into the business. During the last three months, Navaneeth and Ritika competed in 11 championships across the world.

They were runners-up in the Egypt International Series and won bronze in the Uganda International Series. The 22-year-old badminton player from Hyderabad was aiming to perform consistently in the international arena next year.

He said they were training at Suichitra Badminton Academy under the guidance of international coaches from Malaysia and Indonesia.
