Hyderabad: The State unit of Congress party will be lodging a complaint with Legislative Council elections Returning Officer over MLC candidate and former IAS officer P Venkataram Reddy, besides demanding rejection of his nomination, on Wednesday.
The decision to this effect was taken at a party meeting held here on Tuesday. The party leaders have also decided to stage a demonstration involving farmers from Public Gardens to Commissioner, Agriculture department, Nampally at 11 am on Thursday.
Further, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy appealed to Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to keep the resignation of former IAS officer P Venkataram Reddy on hold as there were many complaints against the officer.
He said a complaint was lodged with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding irregularities in the e-auction of Kokapet and Khanamet plots. In the e-auction, undue favour was made to Rajapushpa Group, which is owned by the family members of P Venkataram Reddy, the TPCC president said in a letter to the Chief Secretary.
He also reminded that former Minister Mohd Shabbir Ali had lodged a complaint with President Ram Nath Kovind against the officer over violation of All India Service (Conduct) Rules.
“Considering all these factors, Central Investigation Agencies should investigate and take appropriate action,” Revanth Reddy appealed to the Chief Secretary.
Earlier in the day, AICC spokesperson Pawan Khera lashed at the Central Government and alleged that it had compromised on national security and was covering up the irregularities in the Rafale deal.
Addressing media persons here, he asked the Central Government to explain the reasons behind reducing the number of Rafale aircraft from 126 to 36 unilaterally and without consulting Indian Air Force.
“Why did Prime Minister Narendra Modi deny Transfer of Technology to India and manufacture of Rafale by HAL,” questioned Pawan Khera.
