Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the diplomatic blunder he committed when he openly campaigned for former US president Donald Trump during his 2019 ‘Howdy Modi’ programme in Houston.

“Is the US election some Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation election? How can Modi give a call for ‘Abki baar Trump sarkar’ from US soil? It was a Himalayan blunder that made India the laughing stock among other nations. It was humiliation. Is this the foreign policy of the BJP government?” the Chief Minister asked, speaking to media at Pragathi Bhavan here.

“And look at where India stands now, vis-à-vis the relations with the US. Trump lost the election and India can’t enter the White House now,” Chandrashekhar Rao said.
