Mulugu: District Collector S Krishna Aditya, who inspected the flood flow in River Godavari at Mullakatta bridge in Eturunagram in the district on Friday, asked the people living in low-lying areas to be alert as there was a chance of heavy rain in the coming one or two days.
As part of his visit to the flood-affected villages due to heavy rains in the district for the last two days, he visited the Eturunagaram mandal.
The Collector said that due to the effect of low pressure over the Bay of Bengal many parts of the State are likely to witness heavy rains in the coming one or two days. He also urged the people to inform the officials about the issues as it would help the officials to provide relief measures to the flood victims.
“In view of the heavy rains in the district, a control room has also been set up at the district collectorate and the staff has been assigned in three shifts. People can call at this toll-free number 1008-4250 -520,” he said adding that the revenue officials including the tahsildars and concerned officials would also be available round the clock.
ITDA, Project Officer (PO) Hanmantu K Zendage, Additional Collector Adarsh Surabhi and others accompanied the Collector.
