I have studied in the UK for 5 years at Acocks Green Primary School in Birmingham, UK. Now I am a student of Delhi Public School, Nacharam.
When I was in the UK, I visited Stratford-Upon-Avon, one of the most popular and most visited places because it is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, the famous English author, playwright, poet and actor. Stratford-Upon-Avon is in Warwickshire county which is a 40-minute drive from Birmingham. We had been to Shakespeare’s house as part of an educational trip. It is about 500-year-old and is neither too big nor too small. The house is two-storied and is made up of wood and stone.
Shakespeare was born on 26 April, 1564 in that house and lived in the same house for about 50 years. He married Anne Hathaway and stayed in that house for some time.
We have been to the theatre, which is very close to the house, where plays of Shakespeare are staged daily. It was “Julius Caesar” I watched on that day. On my ninth birthday, my parents surprised me by gifting a set of 16 William Shakespeare books. I was very happy and have read them all. My favourite one is “Merchant of Venice”
I started reading more about Shakespeare and his books and got inspired to become an author and a poet.
