Hyderabad: MyDiagnostics, a home-based, preventive care digital-first diagnostics company, which is currently present in 15 cities, is planning to expand its presence pan-India to 100 cities. The company is looking to bring innovations in the diagnostics segment that will ensure faster turnaround of tests. There are also plans to raise funds to meet its expansion.
The company’s at-home test services platform focuses on root causes of diseases including gut, metabolic, nutritional and hormonal. The company follows an asset-light model and works with diagnostic labs to curate wellness and medical tests. While the company is already in major cities, it soon plans to foray into emerging cities and towns across India.
Vikas Gupta, co-founder, MyDiagnostics, told Telangana Today, “We have developed test catalogues and we work with seven major and NABL accredited labs across India for creating preventive test packages. We plan to go to 100 cities in the coming years. We aim to cover all the pin codes in the country, through a micro-sampling method (by sending the kit to customers and getting the samples back through courier), as well as point-of-care diagnostics that will process results instantly, making the turnaround time faster.”
He added, “We had been initially focusing on wellness and preventive healthcare tests, but post the pandemic outbreak, we got into Covid tests’ space. Faster turnaround tests have become important in the wake of the current pandemic as informed decisions can follow. We have been actively using technology, tools, and data insights to ensure speed and accuracy. We will also bring new digital engagement tools in future that will help people improve their overall health- be it general or immune.”
Wellness segment
The company, which has been providing wellness packages to improve health and longevity, helps customers with insights and recommendations on the basis of the wellness data over an evidence-based platform. The company has developed a core team with medical advisors, technology specialists, AI (artificial intelligence) engineers, customer experience specialists etc. It seeks to develop a non-invasive and digital mode of clinical-grade health assessments.
Primarily B2C, the company recently began its B2B engagements. “We have seen corporate interest in the last one year to extend the services to their employees. We are working with about 50 corporates pan-India,” Gupta informed.
The MyDiagnostics labs use AI software to automate- management of samples collected, operations and the results generated to optimise workflow as well as staff utilisation. Rules-based auto-verification examines and evaluates patients’ results and data against multiple parameters to validate and pace up the reporting actions. Beyond the core lab functions, the company is leveraging digitalisation to manage point-of-care testing devices and their data.
Hyderabad market
Gupta said, MyDiagnostics.in services are available in Hyderabad and the city is one of the most matured markets in the country in the wellness segment. There is a lot of demand for preventive and functional diagnostics from the region. Health checks, metabolism, vitality, and nutrition tests dominate in the region.
“We are also seeing an uptick in gut health related tests including Microbiome and Food Intolerance. We receive lots of enquiries from other cities in Telangana and hence we are planning to expand to more cities in the region soon,” he added.
