Nalgonda: Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy on Tuesday expressed his ire with the officials over poor facilities being extended to Covid-19 patients in the district government hospital of Nalgonda.
Bhupal Reddy, accompanied by Health department officials, visited the Covid ward and inquired with the patients about the treatment and facilities provided to them. He also inquired with the doctors about the condition of patients who were on ventilator support in the ICU ward.
He said no one should play politics in the present situation of the pandemic. He said sufficient oxygen beds were available in the hospitals since an oxygen plant was set up on the premises of the hospital a few months back. He instructed the officials of the electricity department who were also present to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the hospital.
The MLA also directed the Superintendent of the hospital Dr Narsimhulu to take measures and ensure that there is no shortage of Remdesivir injection in the hospital.
On noticing that most of the fans in the COVID ward were not functioning, Bhupal Reddy expressed his ire to the officials and instructed them to replace them with new ones. He alleged that Director of Medical Administration Dr Ramesh was showing discrimination towards Nalgonda district government hospital in release of funds. He said he will bring this matter to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
He has announced Rs 5 lakhs from his Constituency Development Fund to the hospital for the purchase of required items including face masks, hand gloves and other essentials.
