Narrow escape for cops as Inspector’s pistol misfires in Sangareddy
A fire at Bojya Thanda’s cattle shed in Shivampet mandal killed two milch buffaloes and five calves, wiping out farmer Banoth Lakshman’s main livelihood. Villagers have appealed for government financial assistance to support the affected family.
Sangareddy: An Inspector of Police and a head constable had a narrow escape when the inspector’s pistol misfired while being cleaned on Tuesday night.
Inspector Anil Kumar was reportedly cleaning his service weapon when he accidentally touched the trigger, causing it to fire. The bullet struck the wall close to head constable Venugopal, who was standing nearby.
The incident left Venugopal shaken but unhurt. Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj has sought a detailed report from the local DSP after enquiring about the mishap.
