Nikon partners with Youth India Programme to empower future creators

Nikon India has partnered with the Youth India Programme to provide media training for students across schools and universities. The initiative, launched with GIIS, will offer workshops, media labs, and real-world projects to foster creativity, storytelling, and career readiness.

Hyderabad: In a move to nurture creativity and equip students with future-ready skills, Nikon India has announced its support for the Youth India Programme as the official equipment partner. The initiative, led by Arya Chitra, General Manager of the Youth Global Programme, is being rolled out across Indian schools and universities.

The programme, launched in partnership with the Global Schools Group (GIIS), will provide structured exposure to photography, videography, digital storytelling, and media ethics. Students will gain hands-on training through workshops, guided projects, and Nikon-supported Media Labs.


“As part of this initiative, we plan to reach 20 schools and colleges within this financial year,” said Arya Chitra.

Highlighting Nikon’s role, Sajjan Kumar, Managing Director of Nikon India, said: “At Nikon India, we firmly believe that early skilling is critical to preparing a future-ready generation. Through the Youth India Programme, we are enabling students to gain industry-relevant skills while encouraging creativity, experiential learning, and career preparedness.”

Programme highlights include:

Skill Development: Training in photography, filmmaking, storytelling, and responsible media use.

Experiential Learning: Nikon-led workshops, curated projects, and guided excursions.

Media Labs in Schools: Creative spaces equipped with Nikon mirrorless cameras, media kits, and mentorship.

Career Exposure: Early insights into fields such as journalism, communications, media, and content creation.
