Nine patients benefit as relatives of brain-dead men donate organs in Hyderabad
Relatives of two men declared brain dead in Hyderabad have donated their organs under the state-run Jeevandan initiative. The donations, facilitated with a green channel by traffic police, helped nine patients in need across different hospitals.

Hyderabad: Relatives of two individuals, Shek Pulsona (45) and Motaputhula Suresh (37), who were declared brain dead, have donated the organs of the deceased for needy patients under the state-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.
On May 31, Shek Pulsona, a farmer from Ganugabanda, Nalgonda, sustained a serious head injury in a two-wheeler collision and was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad where he was declared brain dead on June 4. His wife gave the consent to donate his kidneys, heart and corneas, helping five patients in need.
On June 2, due to sudden rise in blood pressure, Motapothula Suresh, a daily wager from Sultanpur, Warangal, collapsed at his home. He was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad where he was declared brain dead on June 4. His wife Hymavathi gave the consent to donate kidneys, heart, liver, helping four patients in need.
To transport the donated organs, the Hyderabad and Cyberabad Traffic Police collaborated to create a green channel for rapid transport of a donor heart from Yashoda Hospitals, Malakpet to Star Hospitals, Nanakramguda, covering the distance of 25 km in just 40 minutes.
