Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy inspecting development works in Nirmal on Friday
Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said that Nirmal town would be developed as a model municipality, besides improving the living standards of the citizens. He inspected works of road widening from Mancherial Chowrasta to Ambedkar Chowk and beautification of the district headquarters here on Friday. The estimated cost of the works is Rs 5.5 crore.
Reddy stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao introduced Pattana Pragathi with an aim to convert urban civic bodies into model municipalities. Accordingly, the funds are granted to both rural and urban civic bodies every month. The towns are undergoing a remarkable transformation, following a slew of developmental programmes.
The Minister expressed satisfaction over the progress of the works. He said that the widening and beautification were being executed at desired pace following cooperation extended by locals. He reiterated that efforts were to make the town a model civic body and to develop it on many facets in the near future. He added that he would strive to bring Rs 28 crore and to create some more facilities soon.
Indrakaran further said that the primary goal was to improve the sanitation of the town under the innovative initiative. He advised civilians to keep their surroundings tidy and not to dump trash on the streets. He wanted them to segregate wet and dry waste before throwing it in municipal vehicles. He told civic authorities to take steps to lay a special focus on sanitation.
He later participated in the installation of idols of Saramma and Muthyalamma deities at Potya village in Sarangapur mandal.
