Nizamabad: Nizamabad district administration forms joint action team along with Irrigation, Police, Revenue and Survey departments to prevent irrigation lands encroachments and take severe action against land grabbers.

Collector C Narayana Reddy held a meeting with Revenue, Police, Irrigation and Survey department officials at Nizamabad Collectorate and discussed the issue of land encroachment. Additional Collector Chandrashekhar, SRSP EE Shakar, Nizamabad Municipal Commissioner Jeethesh V Patil and other officials attended the meeting.

The Collector asked officials concerned to take severe action against those encroaching irrigation lands belonging to SRSP and Nizamsagar. He directed the officials that they should form a joint action team with various department officials and conduct survey to check encroachments.

He said Nizamsagar canal was going through Nagaram and the canal was being modernized under Kaleshwaram project to provide irrigation water to Nizamabad rural constituency. It was necessary to protect canal lands, he added. The Collector ordered that officials should form mandal-level and division-level teams and prepare plans to remove encroachments.
