Nizamabad: Police cracked the Hasakotturu murder case and arrested five accused in connection with the murder of a youth. According to police, the main accused Kanaka Rajesh allegedly murdered the youth after finding out his relationship with his sister.

According to Armoor ACP Raghu, the accused Rajesh, a native of Hasakotturu village, found out the love affair between the deceased Siddartha and his sister and had warned him twice. Although they stopped texting on WhatsApp and phone calls, they continued their affair. After coming to know about this, Rajesh decided to threaten him.

On 19th May, Rajesh called up his friends Donpal Pruthiviraj, Jumbarat Anvesh, Salman and Rakesh Yadav to Hasa kotturu village. Later they consumed liquor at Metla Chittapur village and called Siddartha through another youth to Balagoud at around 11 pm. Later they have beaten up Siddartha, leaving Siddartha seriously injured.

After the incident, they sent Siddartha along with Bala Goud at around 12 am, who provided food and painkillers to him for his injuries. In the early hours of 20th, Siddartha faced respiratory problems, and Balgoud informed the matter to Rajesh.

He arrived at the spot and took him to a private nursing home in Metpally in his car, where doctors declared him brought dead. Later Rajesh hatched a plan to perform his final rites by bringing up a lame excuse that Siddartha died due to Covid-19 and brought his dead body in a private ambulance with the help of a local private medical practitioner to convince his family members that he died of Covid-19. He then prepared arrangements for Siddartha’s final rites.

However, his family members raised suspicion after seeing the wounds on his body and refused to give the body for final rites following which Rajesh fled the spot along with the dead body and handed it over to Armoor area hospital, and surrendered in Armoor police station.

ACP Raghu said that the police registered a murder case against the accused and arrested Kanaka Rajesh, Dhonpal Pruthviraj, Jumbarath Anvesh, Sherla Bala Goud, PMP Mateen and sent them to judicial remand. Another accused Salman and Rakesh Yadav are absconding and effortsare on to nab them. He appreciated Bheemgal CI Srinath Reddy and Yergatla SI Asif for cracking the case.
