Welfare Minister K Eashwar addressing the gathering after inaugurating Rythu Vedhika in Nandimedaram of Dharmaram mandal on Tuesday.
Peddapalli: Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar on Tuesday said no State government in the country ruled by the BJP was supplying free power to farmers.
“BJP is in power in 17 states across the country. However, none of the States supply free and 24 hours electricity to the agriculture sector. Hence, BJP leaders have no right to criticise the Telangana government and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said.
Eashwar along with Health Minister Eatala Rajender inaugurated Rythu Vedhika in Nandimedaram of Dharmaram mandal. They also released 1.50 lakh prawn seed in Nandi reservoir.
Speaking on the occasion, Eashwar said while farmers in Zaheerabad of Telangana were getting 24 hours free current for their agricultural fields, the adjacent farmers in Bidar of Karnataka State, wherein BJP is in power, were unable to get at least six hour quality current.
Agricultural pump sets and transformers were burning in Karnataka. Instead of talking about the problems of Karnataka farmers, BJP leaders were criticising TRS government in Telangana.
Telangana State was forging ahead on all fronts after formation of the State. Stating that there were no farmers’ suicides now, he said the six decades long problems of the farming community were overcome within six years.
Rural economy has been revived with the welfare and developmental programme being implemented in the state under the supervision of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
The future of the fastest growing Telangana would be darkened if BJP was allowed to come into power in the state.
Talking about new agricultural laws amended by the union government, he said the acts would force farmers to lose rights on their produce and depend on traders. That was why farmers were agitating against new laws.
Peddapalli MP B Venkatesh Netha, Zilla Parishad chairman Putta Madhukar and others participated in the programme.
