Hyderabad: Former Minister T Harish Rao slammed the State government for its failure to expedite rescue efforts even after a month of the SLBC tunnel collapse. He demanded that full details of the operations be made public.
Expressing deep regret that apart from recovering one body, no progress has been made in tracing the others, he said the victims’ families were living in agony, unsure if their loved ones were alive or dead.
“Why this delay?” he asked, holding the government responsible for the tragedy. Stating that the warnings of geophysicists were ignored and workers’ safety concerns were dismissed in haste for political gains, he said the recklessness had cost eight lives.
He demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy take complete responsibility, ensuring the rescue mission is carried out on a war footing. “Families deserve answers. The government must act immediately to ascertain the fate of the missing workers,” he demanded.
