Mancherial: Forest officials on Friday said no traces of a tiger’s movement were found in the agriculture fields at Chennapur village in Bheemini mandal where farmers claimed that they sighted a tiger on Thursday.
Kushnepalli Forest Range Officer Dayakar stated that a team of eight staffers scanned the fields and nearby forests, but could not record either pugmarks or evidence of the tiger’s movement. He, however, advised farmers to be cautious while moving in agriculture fields. He told them to avoid sudden confrontation with carnivores.
Farmers spent a few anxious hours on Thursday after what they say was a close encounter with a tiger in a cotton farm. They said they escaped from the tiger by climbing a tree. They claimed that they saw the tiger on the prowl in the cotton farm and to avoid confrontation, they climbed a tree and waited for the intruder into their farm to leave.
