Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) on Wednesday said the provisional list of selected candidates for admissions into external (part-time) PhD programmes 2020-21 in various subjects of engineering, management, science and technology disciplines was notified following merit order and rules of reservation.
There was no violation of the rules of reservation in the selections. The BC/SC/ST candidates who qualified in NET/SET/GATE/ GPAT or JNTUH entrance test in open category were allotted open category seats only. No open category candidates were selected either for BC or SC/ST category seats, the JNTU-H said in a press release.
The list was verified by a committee of two expert faculty members belonging to SC/ST and BC communities and certified its correctness as per the rules of reservation, which was approved by the university higher authorities before it was released, it said.
However, a few unsuccessful and non-qualified candidates were spreading false information against the Director admissions, selection list and the university in the media, which was highly condemnable, it added.
