Hyderabad: Nominations for all the seven urban local bodies, including Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) and Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) and nine other casual vacancy wards closed on Sunday. Elections to the urban local bodies will be held on April 30.
Over 1,000 nominations were filed for 66 wards in GWMC while 522 nominations were filed for 60 wards in KMC. All the leading political parties, including the ruling TRS, Congress and BJP have fielded their candidates for the ULB elections.
For the nine casual vacancy wards, including the Lingojiguda division in GHMC limits, a total of 78 nominations have been filed. While 20 nominations have been filed for the Lingojiguda division, 15 were filed for the Gajwel Pragnapur ward and 13 for Parkal ward. Nomination details of five municipalities are yet to be announced.
