Kothagudem: District Collector Anudeep Durishetty directed officials to issue notice to the contractor executing Mother and Child Health Centre (MCHC) works for the delay in the works.
The Collector inspected the ongoing works of the centre at Ramavaram here on Tuesday and expressed displeasure at the delay in the works and the contractor’s failure to construct a compound wall at the hospital.
Durishetty sought to know why the works were delayed even after required funds were released and cautioned the contractor that if the compound wall works were not started within a week the contract would be cancelled. He told TSMIDC officials to issue notice to the contractor.
The Collector told the officials concerned to ensure that all the pending works should be completed by January 26 and ready the hospital ready for inauguration. He suggested preparing a greenery plan for the beautification of the hospital premises and getting approval for the same. As the officials informed the Collector that around 80 per cent of the medical equipment required for the hospital arrived, he told them to complete procurement of the remaining equipment. Proposals for setting up an ultrasound facility and an RO water plant should be submitted, he said.
Durishetty told officials to install high-mast lighting, CCTV cameras and to sink two bore wells in addition to the existing one at the hospital. District Coordinator of Hospital Services (DCHS) Dr. Mukkanteshwar Rao, Municipal Commissioner A Sampath Kumar, DE Naveen and tahsildar PV Ramakrishna were present.
At an orientation programme on child rights organised for police and Anganwadi workers by the Women, Children and Senior Citizens Department in Kothagudem on the day, the Collector stressed the need of protecting child rights. Steps to make Anganwadis as model ones have to be taken, he added.
