Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police issued notices to the YouTubers and social media influencers against whom a case has been booked for promoting illegal betting apps.

The police asked them to appear before the investigating officer of the case and join the probe.

The police had booked a case against several YouTubers and social media influencers including Vishnu Priya, Harsha Sai, Imran and others. They had allegedly promoted the illegal betting apps and corrupted the youngsters.

S M Vijay Kumar, DCP (west) said the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the betting apps to ascertain the details of the racket. “Through the promoters we will come to know about the organisers of the betting rackets. Help of other investigation agencies will be sought for a detailed probe,” said Vijay Kumar.
