Obscene dance: Pub in Begumpet raided, 44 including women held
Officials said the management of the pub was allowing women dancers to expose their bodies in an indecent manner and encouraged obscene acts, apart from creating nuisance.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Task Force raided the Club Tollywood Pub (previously Lisbon Pub) in Begumpet, and caught 44 persons, including the owner and some female dancers on charges of obscenity on Saturday.
Officials said the management of the pub was allowing women dancers to expose their bodies in an indecent manner and encouraged obscene acts, apart from creating nuisance. They were indulging in obscene acts with male customers in two separate rooms.
The arrested persons are N.Venu Gopal (43), owner of Club Tollywood and resident of Banjara Hills, R. Sai Baradwaz (30) along with 33 male customers and nine women victims. Ramu, the manager of Club Tollywood, is absconding.
According to the police, the management of the pub had recently changed the name of the club and illegal activities were being organized. The pub management was also engaging the women for sexual exploitation, police said.
Following a tip-off, the Task Force raided the club and arrested them. They were handed over to the Punjagutta police for further action.
