One killed, two injured as two bikes collide in Asifabad

A fatal accident occurred in Rebbena mandal on Sunday evening when two motorcycles collided at a curve in Vankulam village. One person died on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A person was killed on the spot, while two persons sustained injuries when two motorcycles collided at Vankulam village in Rebbena mandal on Sunday evening.

Police said that Ch Annarao (47), from Rahapalli village in Asifabad mandal, received critical injuries when the two motorcycles collided with each other at a curve, causing instant death for him and injuries to Thirupathi and Krishna Kumar.

The injured were immediately shifted to a hospital in Mancherial. Their medical condition is said to be serious.

 

435 booked for drunk driving in Cyberabad

The Cyberabad traffic police during a drunk driving check on Saturday night caught 435 persons and booked cases against them.

The Miyapur police caught 45 persons followed by Gachibowli 39 and Shamshabad 36 individuals.

The total of 435 people comprised 306 two-wheeler riders, 30 three-wheeler drivers, 97 four-wheeler and 2 heavy vehicle drivers.

All those caught will be produced before the court for further action.

 

Over 1.65 lakh cases settled in Lok Adalat drive

A total of 1,65,522 cases were settled during the national Lok Adalat held on Saturday across the State.

The details include 20,964 FIRs, disaster management cases – 883, e-petty cases – 75,430, Motor Vehicles Act cases – 61,205 cases and cybercrime cases – 7,040.

The highest number of cases 29,023 pertained to Hyderabad, followed by 22,278 in Rachakonda.

During the Lok Adalat a total of 4,539 people received refunds amounting to Rs. 27,91 crores.
