Warangal Urban: A five-day faculty development programme (FDP)  under auspices of the CCE (Centre for Continuing Education) on  “Machine learning for data science using python” was inaugurated by Prof N V Ramana Rao, Director NITW, through online mode on Tuesday.

Interacting with the participants, Prof N V Ramana Rao said online education is an essential and fundamental need today.

“Covid-19  has changed the way of teaching. The teacher’s role needs to change in an online environment compared to traditional teaching-learning methods. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools play a vital role in learning activities. Technology especially like AI can play an important role in these aspects,” he added.

“Artificial Intelligent can automate the non-teaching activities of the teacher like preparation of the material, understanding learners’ levels and assignments to students.  It enables to reach many students more efficiently and effectively through chatting, video meetings, document sharing to the students in online with the help of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning especially during this pandemic,” he explained.

“These technologies mostly focus on the current technical applications and the student levels,” Rao added. CCE In-charge Dr Raju Bhukya, HoD Prof Radha Krishna, Dr Sandhya, and Dr Venkateshwara Rao were present for the programme.
