Operation Nanhe Fariste: Railway Protection Force rescues 91 children in January 2025

Hyderabad: In the month of January, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the South Central Railway (SCR) zone, rescued 91 children including 21 girls who were either missing or were separated from their families, under ‘Operation Nanhe Fariste’.
Under ‘Operation Yatri Suraksha’, the RPF arrested 34 offenders and recovered stolen property worth Rs 71.20 lakh with registration of 30 cases against them during the month.
Likewise, under ‘Operation Amanat’, the personnel helped in securing belongings of 261 passengers valued at Rs 60.8 lakh and handed them over to the rightful owners.
Under ‘Operation Narcos’, to curb narcotic smuggling through railways, the RPF seized marijuana valued more than Rs 21.1 lakh and arrested 12 drug peddlers. RPF personnel also under ‘Operation AAHT’ rescued 23 children including 7 girls from the clutches of 14 human traffickers.
Under ‘Operation Sartak’, liquor worth Rs 85,348 being smuggled through trains was seized and booked cases under relevant sections of law. Likewise, the RPF personnel caught 25 touts and 25 cases were booked. They also seized 120 live tickets worth Rs 2.1 lakh under ‘Operation Upalabdh’.
Under ‘Operation Rail Suraksha’ during the month of January, 39 cases were booked in connection with railway stolen property and material worth Rs 8.1 lakh was recovered.
Officials said the prime objective of the RPF is protection of railway property, facilitate passenger security and safety. The personnel are always in the forefront at times even risking their own lives to safeguard the railway property and also the lives of passengers, officials said.
