Hyderabad: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan said intensity of the operations may have ebbed but Operation Sindoor continues.
“In an era defined by a high degree of operational preparedness 24/7, 365 days, the intensity of operations may have ebbed, but Operation Sindoor continues,” he said.
General Chauhan, who reviewed the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of 216 course at Air Force Academy here on Saturday, said wars were not won by rhetoric but by purposeful action.
The CDS told newly commissioned officers that they were entering the Indian Air Force (IAF) during a phase of deep transformation of the armed forces, integrated structures, joint operations, and national pursuit of Atmanirbharta in defence, which are shaping the future of India’s military strength.
“Your journey ahead will be accordingly guided by JAI, the first word of Jai Hind, that’s victory. The J stands for jointness in fighting as one nation and one force, A-Atmanirbharta, manufacturing trusted platforms and systems not just for India but for the world, and I – innovation, which is daring to think ahead of the curve. These three pillars will shape the future of India’s combat power,” he said.
Interestingly, this time, IAF Chief Air Marshal, AP Singh led the fly-past formation of Kiran aircraft.
The event, marked by military precision, commemorated the successful completion of the pre-commissioning training of flight cadets across various branches of the IAF.
During the ceremony, the CDS conferred the ‘President’s Commission’ to the newly commissioned officers. For successful completion of their training, ‘Wings’ and ‘Brevets’ were presented to the flying officers of the IAF, officers of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and trainees from Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The CDS awarded the coveted ‘President’s Plaque’ as well as the ‘Nawanagar Sword of Honour’ to Tanishk Aggarwal, flying officer from flying branch, for standing first in the order of merit. He also presented the ‘President’s Plaque’ to Shaksham Dobriyal and Nitesh Kumar for standing first in the overall order of merit in navigation and ground duty branches respectively .
The ceremony included a display by the Akash Ganga team and Air Warrior Drill Team, and interspersed fly-pasts by the Pilatus PC-7, Hawk, Kiran and Chetak aircraft. Aerial displays by the Sarang helicopter display team and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) enthralled the audience composed of officers from tri-services and parents.
