OU plans Cyber Skills Academy with Macquarie University, KPMG India
Osmania University is exploring a cybersecurity education partnership with Macquarie University, KPMG India, and Austrade. The initiative aims to set up a Cyber Skills Academy and provide students with industry-aligned, job-ready training in digital trust and cybersecurity.

Hyderabad: Osmania University’s Office of International Affairs (OIA), Macquarie University Cyber Skills Academy and KPMG India, in association with Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), are exploring a strategic academic collaboration in cybersecurity education.
In a virtual meeting chaired by OIA director Prof B Vijaya on Thursday, discussions focused on integrating industry-aligned cybersecurity programmes into university curricula, combining academic excellence with practical industry expertise.
The collaboration aims to equip students with job-ready skills in cybersecurity and digital trust through hands-on learning and practitioner insights.
During the meeting, Macquarie University expressed interest in establishing a Cyber Skills Academy in collaboration with KPMG, India, at OU as per university norms and the State government guidelines. A decision will be taken shortly.
Prof Krishniah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof Sriramulu, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Dr Sammunatha, Department of Management, Dr MA Hameed, Joint Director OIA, Piyush Awasthi, Director Austrade, Matt Bushy, Cyber Skills Academy, Macquarie University, Kamal Rabha Shankar and Aparna Agarwal Mahaveer from KPMG, India, participated in the meeting.
