Peddapalli: In a ghastly incident, a 40-year-old person was found brutally murdered near Malyalapalli on the outskirts of Godavarikhani, with his mutilated body parts thrown in different places. The police on Saturday found the head and two hands of the deceased, while a search has been launched for the remaining body parts.
Passersby found mutilated body parts on the roadside of Rajiv Rahadari on Saturday morning and informed the NTPC police who rushed to the spot. They deployed CLUES team and a dog squad to search for the remaining body part as well as gather evidence against the culprits.
The deceased was identified as Kampelli Shankar, a resident of Kazipalli of NTPC, who worked at a Mee Seva centre in Vittalnagar. He has been missing since Thursday night. The victim’s mother Pochamma lodged a missing case with the NTPC police on Friday, where she suspect the role of Shankar’s wife Hemalatha. Based on her complaint, the police took Hemalatha, her father and brother into custody for questioning.
Ramagundam Police Commissioner Chandrashekhar Reddy visited the spot and enquired about the incident. Ramagundam CI K Laxminarayana, SIs Swaroopraj (NTPC) and Nuthi Sridhar (Anthergoan) are investigating the case.
On the other hand, family members of the deceased staged rasta roko at FCI crossroads demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and stringent action against the culprits. They alleged that Hemalatha, who had an illicit affair with another person, might have killed her husband. The couple used to quarrel with each other frequently. They were also given counselling at NTPC police station about five month ago.
The couple had three children Nandini, Madhu and Vignesh.
