Peddapalli: A woman and her four-month-old boy died when a speeding lorry hit the two-wheeler in which they were riding pillion in Godavarikhani town.
The accident occurred on Rajiv Rahadari near Ramagundam Municipal Corporation office late on Tuesday night. Puppala Ramya (26) and her son Anvesh Chandra died on the spot. Anil Kumar and Ramya, residents of Annapurna colony, NTPC, had taken Anvesh Chandra to hospital for treatment on Tuesday evening. While they were returning home, a speeding lorry hit their two-wheeler from the rear, resulting in instantaneous death of both mother and child. Anil Kumar survived the accident with minor injuries.
Godavarikhani CI Ramesh Babu visited the spot, registered a case and began investigations.
