Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the party’s upcoming silver jubilee public meeting in Elkathurthy near Warangal on April 27 would be the largest in the party’s history. The people of Telangana are eager to see and hear from party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao, who raised Telangana to Himalayan heights. Chandrashekhar Rao will expose the failures of the Congress regime and the BJP’s injustice to Telangana during the event, he said.
Speaking after inspecting the arrangements at the venue on Wednesday, Rama Rao recalled that erstwhile Warangal district had hosted many crucial BRS meetings in the past, and Elkathurthy would once again stand witness to a historic gathering.
“We are making massive arrangements with care, keeping in mind the intense summer. We are ensuring no inconvenience to any attendee,” he assured.
He said Telangana Bhavan, the BRS headquarters, had now become a “Janata Garage” for people facing hardships under the Congress regime. “No matter what challenges people face, they continue to look towards the BRS and Telangana Bhavan for help,” he remarked.
Accordingly, the BRS activists and people from every nook and cranny of the State are preparing to gather in large numbers for the public meeting. The BRS working president said farmers had already started off in bullock carts from Suryapet to show their support. Similarly, he urged people to take any possible vehicle and attend the massive BRS meeting.
The preparations include four designated parking zones, capacity for 40,000 vehicles in around 1,000 acres, 10 lakh water bottles, 10 lakh buttermilk packets, 2,000 volunteers, 100 medical teams, and 20 ambulances, among others. “We are even arranging 200 backup generators, as there’s no reliability on electricity supply under the Congress regime,” he said.
Rama Rao stated that the meeting was a peaceful celebration of the party’s 25-year journey, not a protest. He also urged BRS cadres to hoist the party flag in all 12,796 gram panchayats across the State on April 27.
Earlier, Rama Rao and other senior leaders observed a two-minute silence in memory of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.
