Petra FC which won the All India Champions Cup football tournament
Hyderabad: Petra FC (Gandipet) scored a hard-fought 5-3 win against Don Bosco (Erragadda) in the final of the Champions Cup football tournament (under-15) at Reeds Football Academy here on Monday.
The teams were locked one-all at full-time.
For the winners, Vihan scored for Petra during regulation time and Roshan equalised for Don Bosco.
In the shoot-out, Krishna, Utkarsh, Charvin and Krishiv were on target for the winners only Roshan scored.
Former State player and coach of Reserve Bank of India team, former State player J. James of State Bank of India gave away the prizes.
The results: Final: Petra FC bt Don Bosco 5-2 – via shoot-out
Semifinals: Petra FC 3 (Rayansh, Aarav 2) bt Conscient FC 0.
Don Bosco 3 (Shyam 2, John) bt St. Michael’s.
Wanaparthy wins title
Wanaparthy edged out Karimnagar 4-3 via tie-breaker after the teams were locked goalless at full time in the final of the Telangana State senior men’s football championship at Mahabubnagar Stadium on Monday.
D. Mahesh, N. Lokesh, K. Mahesh and Paramesh were on target for the winners, while for the losers, Vijay Kumar, B. Abhishek and Ramcharan scored.
The result: Final: Wanaparthy bt Karimnagar 4-3 – via tie-breaker.
