Kothagudem police launched mobile hospital-ambulance services in remote Pusuguppa village in Cherla mandal. Developed with Rs 1 crore under Special Central Assistance, the facility aims to provide healthcare access to adivasis in Maoist-affected tribal areas

Kothagudem: The district police launched mobile hospital-ambulance services for adivasis in remote Pusuguppa village in Cherla mandal on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh borders on Friday.
Bhadrachalam MLA T Venkat Rao, district Collector Jitesh V Patil and Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju inaugurated the facility developed at a cost of Rs 1 crore, released through Special Central Assistance funds.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Venkat Rao lauded the SP and district police for making efforts for the welfare of the tribal people living in Maoist-affected areas of Cherla mandal. Adivasis in Pusuguppa and surrounding areas should make use of the hospital, he said.
A road from Pusuguppa to Cherla, recently laid by the police, was greatly helpful to the residents of Pusuguppa and surrounding villages to go to Bhadrachalam and Kothagudem towns in case of medical emergency.
Collector Patil also commended the district police for taking welfare and development programmes to the doorsteps of the tribals. The district administration was working to provide basic facilities like education, medicine and transport to the people living in Maoist-affected areas, he said.
Later, SP Rohith Raju said that the police department would stand by the residents of agency areas and solve their problems. People of the border villages of Chhattisgarh, Rampuram and Bhimaram should also use the services of the hospital, he said.
Bhadrachalam ASP Vikrant Kumar Singh, Cherla Inspector Raju Verma, Special Branch Inspectors Chennuri Srinivas, E Srinivas, SIs Narsi Reddy, Keshava and other officers and staff participated in the programme.
