Police will never make digital arrests, says Cybercrime Police

Sangareddy: Cybercrime police have said that citizens must realise that the police would never arrest anyone digitally.
During an awareness programme organised for citizens at Rajpushpa Club House in Tellapur municipality on Sunday, Cybercrime DSP KVM Prasad said citizens must realise that the call is from cybercriminals if they mention about digital arrest.
Prasad called upon the citizens not to post their photographs on social media platforms to protect their identity.
The DSP said cybercriminals were utilising information available on social media to exploit the youth, elderly and women alike.
DSP Harikrishna asked the citizens to file a complaint immediately if they lose any amount to online fraudsters by dailing on 1930. He said the possibility of getting their money back would be high if they filed a complaint within an hour of losing the money which is considered as golden hour in cybercrime.
DSPs Suryaprakash, N Venugopal Reddy, Tellapur Neighbourhood Association President Ramana, members Madanmohan, Badrinath and others were present.
