Power staff protest privatisation of AHP, CHP at YTPS
The Telangana State Power Employees Joint Action Committee (TGPEJAC) staged a protest in Bhadrachalam opposing the State government’s decision to privatise the ash and coal handling plants at Yadadri Thermal Power Station.

Kothagudem: The TGPEJAC Kothagudem branch has strongly opposed the State government’s decision to privatise ash handling plant (AHP) and coal handling plant (CHP) at Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS) in Damaracherla mandal in Nalgonda district.
The members of the Telangana State Power Employees Joint Action Committee (TGPEJAC) voicing concerns over the government’s decision, staged a protest at Bhadrachalam on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion the JAC convener K Jeevan Kumar and others stated that privatising the AHP and CHP at YTPS could adversely affect job security, service standards and the future of the organisation.
They demanded the government and the authorities concerned immediately withdraw the decision. The move was causing anxiety among employees at a time when there was a need to strengthen public sector undertakings.
The JAC members affirmed that they would continue to fight collectively to protect TGGENCO; to safeguard the rights and welfare of the employees and shouted slogans ‘Save YTPS- Save TGGENCO.’
Union leaders Venkataraju, Ramakrishna, Uday, Peddaraju, and Trinadh Reddy; ADEs Narasimha Rao and Venu; AEs Raja Rao, Upender, Rohini, and Jyothi and others took part in the protest.
