A TGGENCO employee, Raju, died by suicide inside the power station in Thurkalamaddikunta, Peddapalli, on Wednesday. Police registered a case and began an investigation. The body was shifted to the local hospital for postmortem. The reason is still unclear.

The Genco expert team concluded that the fire that broke out at Bhadradri Thermal Power Station’s (BTPS) first unit generator transformer was not caused by lightning strike, but due to internal issues.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government did not mind handing over the construction work to Genco, but they should be in the position to take up the project on their own.
